In 2023 HuffPost celebrated the 50th anniversary of Hip-Hop with a suite of profiles on some of the most influential artists of the genre. The visuals team was tasked with reimagining this celebration with a cohesive vision that would stand on its own and highlight the gritty origins of the music form and be just as impactful as the larger-than-life names of the artists. I spear headed this one with nods back to retro poster designs and the feel of early MCs. I originally came up with two distinct visions for the profile pages, which you can see below.
